Dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the Art of Classical Dressage

The ClassicalDressage discussion group is well worth taking a look at.  Even if you never post you will pick up some very valuable information that will  make a difference to your riding.  It’s not just another  dressage list, it is a Classical Dressage list with many genuine  classical trainers. They don’t always agree, but flaming of any  sort is not tolerated, nor are one-liners... Take a look.

An international forum for the discussion of topics related  to the training, history, and preservation of the art of Classical  Dressage. Philosophical as well as technical discussion welcome and  encouraged. We have members from all over the world, including (but not limited to) the United States, the UK, Germany, France, Austria, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Japan, and more.

There is a sister list in the UK called Discovering  Classical Dressage .  It is slightly less formal and very friendly towards new posters.

It is for riders at any level, as its aim is to inform, help and provide a forum for genuine discussion about Classical Dressage, no matter what school of thought. It is a friendly and polite group that has a thirst for knowledge and the horse’s best interests at  heart.

Simon  Battram - the owner and moderator of the DCD list -  has an excellent article on the Art of Lungeing and also one on Working a Horse In Hand at his website.

This is the support site for the Power Posture stretching programme, which I recommend for helping develop the "automatic" proper posture which is essential for optimal rider and horse performance.

Sylvia Loch now has her own website too.

Sue Nevill-Park specialises in teaching position and aiding on the lunge and has a really good selection of schoolmasters to suit all abilities from very easy to very  challenging! She also uses equestrian vaulting to help adult  riders and works closely with Alexander Technique teachers and a  number of complementary therapies & techniques. Sue says that she doesn't know anywhere else that offers this depth and  breadth of expertise (which is why she set it up in
the  first place!)

Learn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds anxiety, fear, discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence, decisiveness, and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success.
